Avatar Movie Promo [From the Makers of TITANIC]

MOVIE PREVIEW

Avatar is an upcoming 3-D science fiction epic film directed by James Cameron, due to be released on December 18, 2009 by 20th Century Fox. The film is Lightstorm Entertainment's latest project, and James Cameron's first film in 12 years, having last directed Titanic in 1997. With a budget of $237 million, it would be the third most expensive film ever.

The story’s protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Na’vi, a sentient humanoid race that humans consider primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. Standing three meters tall (approximately 10ft), with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Na’vi live in harmony with their unspoiled world. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora's forests in search of valuable minerals, the Na’vi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence.

Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies that are controlled by a human "driver" through a technology that links the driver's mind to their Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Sent deep into Pandora's jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora's beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Na’vi female, Neytiri, whose beauty is matched only by her ferocity in battle.

Over time, Jake integrates himself into Neytiri's clan, and begins to fall in love with her. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na’vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

Wolfman Movie Promo

MOVIE PREVIEW

The Wolfman is a 2010 remake of the 1941 classic horror film of the same name. The remake is directed by Joe Johnston and stars Benicio del Toro. Although originally scheduled for November 6, 2009, it has once again been pushed back to be released on February 12, 2010.

Set in the late 1880s, the film keeps the plotline of the original, with Lawrence Talbot (Benicio del Toro) meeting his father (Anthony Hopkins) following the death (and in the remake, disappearance) of his brother. The film details events during Lawrence's past that led to his estrangement from his father (which includes Gwen), and the setting is changed from the mythical Welsh village of Llanwelly to the English village of Blackmore and the city of London.
The official synopsis states Talbot was traumatized by his mother's death as a child, while Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt) is his brother's fiancée. Following his brother's disappearance, Talbot hunts a murderer, which turns out to be a werewolf, and the curse is passed on.

CAST & CREW
  • Benicio del Toro as Lawrence Talbot/The Wolfman
  • Anthony Hopkins as Sir John Talbot, Lawrence's father. Hopkins said the Universal Horror series "when played today come across as pretty corny, but they were entertaining."
  • Emily Blunt as Gwen Conliffe, with whom Talbot falls in love. Blunt liked the "mythological", "Gothic and majestic" story and signed on despite her fear of horror films. Blunt said Gwen was probably the first "innately good" character she ever played.
  • Hugo Weaving as Detective Aberline, who investigates murders by the transformed Talbot. The name Francis Aberline is a play on Frederick Abberline, who was a real life victorian inspector working on the Jack the Ripper case; his real nickname was indeed Francis.
  • Geraldine Chaplin as Maleva, an old Gypsy.
  • Gene Simmons as The Wolfman (voice)

Wake Up Sid [RANBIR KAPOOR] Movie Promo

MOVIE PREVIEW
This is the story of Sidharth Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor), a lazy, unmotivated slacker from Mumbai whose life undergoes a series of changes after taking his final year college exams. Sid's world is breezy, carefree, and without any true responsibilities. The most important elements in his life are his friends, his camera, his car, and his X-box 360.

Sid thrives around his two best friends, Rishi (Namit Das) and Laxmi (Shikha Talsania), very rarely communicates with his mother Sarita (Supriya Pathak) and takes his father Ram Mehra (Anupam Kher), and all his hard earned wealth for granted. Despite all these traits, Sid is an honest boy; sweet, funny, and above all, a good friend. Aisha Bannerjee (Konkona Sen Sharma), an aspiring writer from Calcutta, learns this soon enough when her path crosses with Sid's on her first day in Bombay, Ambitious, well-read, and driven, Aisha has come to Bombay to realize her dreams as a writer. Despite their contrasting personalities. Sid becomes Aisha's first friend in the city.

As Aisha sets up her life in Bombay, with the help of Sid and his gang, Sid allows for time to fly by over long drives, parties that stretch well into dawn, and endless hours doing absolutely nothing. But summers vary rarely dull these days and Sid's summer is no different. A series of circumstances and events compel him to take stock of his life and take a hard look at himself. Will he, at some point figure out what he's supposed to be doing with his life?

CAST & CREW

Ranbir Kapoor: Sidharth Mehra
That's me! Well, Sidharth Mehra really but everyone calls me Sid. I'm just a regular guy, I guess. I just finished college and have no idea what the heck I'm doing next. No one told me that I had to have a plan, so I never made one! If you ask me, the world would be a much better place if we all just slowed down and learnt to take it easy sometimes. That's kind of what I'm doing these days... just taking it easy... hanging with my buddies, watching TV, eating, sleeping, dreaming... that sort of thing, you know?

Konkona Sen Sharma: Aisha Bannerjee
God, there's so much to say about Aisha... She's new to Mumbai, and completely infatuated with the city. She left everyone and everything she knew in Kolkata to go after her dream of becoming a writer for this cool urban magazine called Mumbai Beat. She's creative, ambitious, focused, driven, brave... phew, basically everything I'm not!

Anupam Kher: Ram Mehra
Dad and I have nothing in common, really. He owns a company that manufactures bathroom fittings. Their speciality: these horrific gadgets called Flower Showers! They're exactly what they sound like-showers that look like flowers. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not. And now, he wants me to join the company! How am I going to get out of this one?

Supriya Pathak: Sarita
Mom has three obsessions: Watching TV serials, nagging me, and trying to learn English. I don't know which one bothers me more! But she's sweet, and always gives me money, even when dad tells her not to. And her Rajma Chawal is to die for!

Namit Das: Rishi
Rishi and I have been buddies since KG, and he hasn't changed one bit. He's always in love and always getting his heart broken. His current "true love" is Neha. They met on the first day of college, and have been obnoxiously stuck at the hip ever since. I don't get this 'love' business at all! Quite frankly, I feel like punching him in the face when he gets all mushy. We've had some great times together though.

Shikha Talsania: Laxmi
Laxmi is one of my best friends, though her best friend is food! I don't think I've ever seen her not eating. I swear! She's either munching on something, or talking about eating, or planning her next meal... how she manages to find time to study and top our class every year, I have no idea!
